Brightstar receives Investors in People bronze award

Published on

Brightstar has achieved an Investors in People bronze level accreditation following its first assessment.

Just 16% of UK employers are accredited with Investors in People, and only 7% of those ever manages to achieve the bronze standard. In order to become accredited, an organisation needs to meet 39 evidence requirements which include leadership, management, training and development of staff. Investors in People (IIP) looks at how aligned an organisation’s staff are to the company’s objectives; the organisation has to go through an online assessment and undergo an assessment with an IIP assessor who examines not only the company’s practices but also both observes and interviews staff.

To achieve a bronze award a company needs to have met an additional 26 evidence requirements. This covers areas such as leading, inspiring and empowering people; managing performance and structuring work; recognising and rewarding high performance; and delivering continuous improvement.

Clare Jupp (pictured), director of people development, said: “We have been working towards our Investors in People accreditation for just three months and we were fast tracked to our first assessment. To bypass the ‘standard’ level and achieve bronze level first time was a fantastic achievement. We have worked incredibly hard to implement our People Development strategy over the last three years, so using the Investors in People framework was the perfect way to measure our success and ‘investment’ and to ensure that Brightstar is the great and successful place to work that we want it to be.

“Our assessor stated that out of the 800 companies he has assessed, Brightstar was the best that he had seen.”
