Bridgewater Equity Release

Bridgewater Equity Release is to hold an Equity Release Advice Masterclass.

The event is designed for those who want to become expert equity release advisers.

It will be held at the Village Hotel Bury, Waterfold Business Park, Bury, BL9 7BQ on Wednesday 30 May, starting at 10am and finishing after lunch at 1pm.

The subjects and speakers are:
Longevity – the changing impact on equity release advice. Paul Barber, director, Bridgewater Equity Release.
The UK housing market – an investor’s view of current trends and future expectations of the residential market. Tracey Hartley, senior manager, Grainger plc’s Property Services Division.
The legal process – avoiding the legal pitfalls; how understanding the legal process can improve practice and profitability. Peter Barton, solicitor and senior partner, Ashfords LLP.
The equity release advice process – developing best practice to ensure customer risk is appropriately matched to the advice offered. Peter Welch, head of sales and distribution, Bridgewater Equity Release.
The Masterclass is aimed at those advisers already active in the equity release sector but looking to develop their understanding of current market issues and further develop their client service proposition.

Welch said: “With this Masterclass we wanted to look at equity release advice ‘in the round’ tackling a range of subjects and issues which are particularly pertinent to advisers. To that end, we have brought together a range of experts in order to help advisers develop their understanding of such key areas as longevity, the housing market, the legal process and the delivery of advice.

“We would like advisers to leave with a better understanding of those topics and, importantly, how they are likely to impact and potentially change the advice that is provided to clients.

“This is the first such Masterclass we have provided and, if successful, it is our intention to conduct many more throughout the country over the course of the year. At Bridgewater we are always looking to engage with advisers and to help develop their skills and equity release propositions for clients – this Masterclass is one way we believe the advisory community can harness their skills and acquire additional knowledge in order for them to cater for the often complicated needs of their customer base.”
