Big Equity Release Quiz winners revealed

Pure Retirement has announced the winners of last week’s inaugural Big Equity Release Quiz, held as a fundraising initiative for the British Red Cross’ Covid-19 response.

Of those outside its own workforce, the main prize fell to Lee Harper of The Finance Planning Group, while a separate prize within Pure’s own ranks fell to the company’s telephone BDM for the South West, Daniel Edmondson.

Held on the morning of Wednesday 6 May, the quiz saw both a number of Pure’s own staff and a mixture of participants from across the industry come together to test their knowledge of the market in a show of friendly competition in aid of a good cause. Over 100 people registered to take part, with Pure Retirement donating £5 for each person who registered plus additional participants on the day. Both contestants and the wider sector as a whole were also encouraged to donate to a dedicated Just Giving page, and to date the initiative has raised over £800.

Harper said: “As an industry, we naturally deal with some of society’s most vulnerable, many of whom are reliant on initiatives and support from people such as the British Red Cross during these uncertain times. While it’s great to have won, I think the bigger message is that the wider sector has come together for the greater good both in good-natured competition and in generosity.”

Edmondson added: “Pure Retirement has a long history of charity work and a wider Corporate Social Responsibility commitment, and to see our workforce emulate the rest of the industry by coming together to take part and raise money for a great cause is testament to our culture and teamwork. For me, it’s been hugely important to support those organisations aiding society’s most vulnerable during these unprecedented times.”

For anyone wanting to contribute, the Just Giving page remains open and can be found here
