Access FS adds 3mc to mortgage panel to support complex cases

Published on

Access Financial Services has added 3mc to its mortgage panel in a move aimed at giving advisers greater flexibility when handling complex residential and buy-to-let cases.

The brokerage said the addition of 3mc would provide an external option alongside its own specialist packager, launched in October to support second charge borrowing, bridging loans, commercial mortgages and development finance.

Advisers can now choose between Access FS’s internal referral scheme, Access All Areas, or the newly added external route.

The firm said the intention was to reflect the way its more experienced advisers increasingly prefer to work, ensuring they are not tied to a single pathway. It also highlighted adviser feedback that pointed to 3mc’s strong track record, its specialist mortgage desk and the breadth of exclusive products it offers through its lender relationships.

Jeremy Morcumb, an Access FS mortgage and protection broker based in Fleet, said: “As a veteran broker, I think it’s great to have the option of doing these complex cases externally or via internal facilities.

“If you’ve been in the business for a while, you want some freedom of choice – you don’t want to feel stifled. Fortunately, that’s the Access FS culture.”

He said: “This is not a one-size-fits-all, it’s-our-way-or-the-highway sort of brokerage. 3mc has a great mortgage desk, the sourcing tools and broker portal are both excellent and it offers hundreds of packager lender exclusive products. This is a win-win for mortgage advisers here.”

Nick Jones (pictured), sales and mortgage director at Access FS, said the firm anticipated that an external packager would appeal to the “sophisticated, experienced advisers” it works with and wants to attract.

“We suspected that having the option of using an external packager might appeal to the sort of sophisticated, experienced advisers we work with now and who want to recruit in the future,” he said. “We aim to embrace the way they want to work and help them grow.

“So, we spoke to our advisers about who they’ve dealt in the past and who they would recommend.

“Having engaged with our brokers, we listened to them: they told us they wanted to work with 3mc and we’ve made that happen.”

Access FS said brokers consistently referenced 3mc’s flexibility, brand heritage and the strength of its mortgage desk. They also highlighted the quality of its website, broker portal and sourcing tool, the range of exclusive products it offers in the specialist market and the educational material it provides.

Michelle Tidman, a director of 3mc, added: “3mc is delighted to be working with the Access FS team and looking forward to providing some assistance to their brokers. Our specialist mortgage desk is ready and waiting.”
