MT Finance has strengthened its specialist lending team with the appointment of James Briggs as national account manager.

Briggs (pictured) joins the lender with more than 25 years’ experience in the specialist finance sector, having held a number of senior leadership roles during his career.

In his new role, Briggs will be responsible for supporting MT Finance’s growth by developing its specialist lending propositions and building long-term relationships with intermediary partners. His experience spans specialist commercial and buy-to-let mortgage lending, as well as bridging and other forms of short-term finance.

Prior to joining MT Finance, Briggs held senior positions at a number of well-established firms within the specialist lending market. His appointment forms part of MT Finance’s ongoing investment in its people and proposition.

Gareth Lewis, deputy chief executive officer at MT Finance, said: “We are delighted to welcome James to the team. James’s wealth of experience and deep understanding of the intermediary landscape make him an invaluable asset as we continue to expand our reach.

“His background in both commercial and short-term finance aligns perfectly with our strategic growth plans and we look forward to building on this to deliver on our business goals.”

Briggs added: “I am passionate about the UK specialist mortgage market and have always focused on building strong, lasting relationships with intermediaries.

“MT Finance has a fantastic reputation in the industry, and I look forward to using my experience in sales management and distribution strategy to help the team achieve even greater success.”
