YBS appoints new vice-chairman

Lynne Charlesworth has been appointed as the Yorkshire Building Society’s new vice-chairman.

She replaces Richard Davey who retired from the board at the end of the mutual’s AGM on 18 April 2012.

Davey had been a board member for six and a half years and vice chairman for the past five years.

Charlesworth joined the board in 2006 and has held a number of roles at the former National & Provincial Building Society before becoming group risk manager of the Abbey National Plc following its take over of the society.

In 1998 she founded a property and asset management business and is now joint managing director of a private investment company, St James Investments Limited.

She currently chairs of the mutual’s Group Risk Committee and is a trustee of the Society’s pension scheme.
