Screen sharing IT company Vizolution is in the running for a award celebrating excellence in the electronics and software industry in Wales.

Vizolution has been revealed as one of three finalists for the Innovative Software Package of the Year category at this year’s ESTnet Awards, for the development of its vScreen product.

vScreen enables call centre staff and advisers to conduct a virtual face to face meeting remotely providing a visual element to what otherwise would be just a verbal call. Any authorised documents can now be shared with a customer over an encrypted secure internet connection.

In just its first year since launch vScreen is now being used by three of the top five UK lenders.

CEO of Vizolution, Bill Safran, attributes its commercial success in part to support from Finance Wales, one of the largest regional SME investment companies. Because of this support, in a series of pilots with major UK financial services companies Vizolution not only established ‘proof of concept’ but demonstrated tangible benefits in terms of increased sales conversions and customer experience.

He said: “It is a huge honour for the company and we are delighted to have made the shortlist amongst such stiff competition. We’ve enjoyed some remarkable success since the launch of vScreen and believe that having this acknowledged by a prestigious award is well-deserved recognition of the skills and efforts of our Chief Technical Officer Huw Rees and his team in the Baglan Bay Innovation Centre in Port Talbot.”

The ESTnet awards celebrate the innovation that exists in Wales and recognises the contribution that the technology sector makes to the Welsh economy.

Ian Menzies, Chair of the ESTnet, the network representing electronics and software technologies sector in Wales said: “There is a wealth of talent in the industry in Wales and we have a great opportunity with the ESTnet awards programme to raise the profile of the sector and celebrate its achievements.

“It is clear from the shortlisted companies that Wales is leading the way in many specialist high-tech fields and Vizolution is a perfect example of this.”
