UTB rolls out electronic deeds and mandates to speed mortgage processing

United Trust Bank has introduced electronic signatures for mortgage deeds and direct debit mandates in a move designed to speed applications and cut paperwork for brokers and borrowers.

United Trust Bank has expanded its digital capability across residential and second charge mortgages by enabling customers to sign mortgage deeds and direct debit mandates online through the UTB app.

The bank said the new E-Deeds and E-DDM process aims to streamline applications by removing one of the most common administrative delays in the completion journey.

The signing process is initiated within the app, which provides step-by-step prompts and guidance for customers and witnesses. According to UTB, the in-app route offers a level of integration not currently seen elsewhere, with documents signed securely from any location and at any time.

The digital signing option can be used for residential remortgage, unencumbered cases and second charge loans. It follows a series of upgrades introduced by UTB in recent years as the lender continues to push further into end-to-end digital processing.

UTB worked with specialist introducer Lendle to pilot the service before making it available to all brokers and introducers.

Chris Birks, director of Lendle, said: “We’re delighted to once again be working with United Trust Bank on another innovative project. The introduction of E-Deeds is a fantastic step forward in creating a smoother, faster journey for our customers.

“Having been trusted to help test and prove the new process, we’re proud to support UTB as they continue to lead the way in delivering digital solutions to the secured lending market.

“The introduction of E-Deeds is a fantastic step forward in creating a smoother, faster journey for our customers.”

Buster Tolfree, managing director of mortgages, buy-to-let and bridging at United Trust Bank, added: “We’re always looking for new ways to enhance our offering and make dealing with UTB as quick and easy as possible for brokers and customers.

“Electronic signing of mortgage deeds and DDMs removes a well-known pain point for applicants, making the journey even smoother.

“I would like to thank Chris and the team at Lendle for working with us to successfully develop and test the new system and I am delighted that all brokers and their customers can now enjoy the benefits of our collaboration.”
