UTB opens Manchester office to strengthen northern lending operations

United Trust Bank (UTB) has opened a new office in Manchester’s Hardman Square, as it seeks to expand lending operations and broker support across the North of England.

The new office, located in the heart of Manchester’s business district, will serve as a base for UTB’s bridging, property development, mortgages, asset finance and structured property finance divisions.

The office, which features 12 desks and meeting rooms, will also provide a dedicated workspace for the business development managers (BDMs) already engaged in expanding UTB’s presence across the region.

Mark Stokes, chief commercial officer at United Trust Bank, highlighted the strategic importance of strengthening the bank’s northern presence.

“We have supported brokers and customers in the North of England for many years, and it’s an important market we want to develop further,” said Stokes.

“We already have a growing number of business development and underwriting staff permanently based outside London in the Midlands and the North, and we believe now is the right time to establish a base where staff can work in an office environment when needed, as well as somewhere comfortable and private to meet with brokers and customers.”

Stokes emphasised Manchester’s role as a hub for regional economic growth, positioning the city as a natural choice for UTB’s first northern satellite office.

“Manchester is a vibrant and dynamic city leading the Northern Powerhouse movement. It is the ideal location for a UTB satellite office and sends a clear signal to brokers and borrowers that we are committed to supporting the ongoing regeneration of the North of England. By providing housebuilders, developers, SMEs, and investors with the backing they need, we aim to play a part in their growth and success.”
