Use specialist conveyancers, brokers told

Conveyancing Alliance Ltd (CAL) has urged intermediaries to ensure their clients are using specialist conveyancing firms.

It made this call as a result of ongoing cuts made by lenders to their solicitor panels.

CAL believes that lenders will continue to adopt this practice only allowing specialist conveyancing firms to remain on the panel if they can continue to meet quality standards and deal with significant volume.

The online conveyancing distributor argues this greatly impacts on the choice of conveyancing firm open to borrowers however advisers and brokers can provide a valuable service to their clients by ensuring they do not attempt to place their business with ineligible firms.

Harpal Singh , managing director of Conveyancing Alliance Ltd, said: “The conveyancing market is changing rapidly and the recent research shows how quickly lenders in particular are opting for specialists in their field rather than keeping their panels open to as many solicitor firms as possible. The real focus now is on quality and volume
