Capita Mortgage Services has appointed Tony Ward to its board as non-executive chairman.

Ward is currently chief executive of Home Funding Limited and partner at Bank Solutions Group. He has also held various senior roles including chief executive at Britannic Money PLC, Mortgage Trust, and group treasurer Mortgage Funding Corporation PLC and Kleinwort Benson.

His appointment takes the number of board members to five.

Capita Mortgage Services (formerly Crown Mortgage Management) was acquired by Capita Asset Services in May this year.

Capita Mortgage Services’ managing director Andrew Doyle said: “We are delighted to have someone of Tony’s calibre and extensive experience on the board. With more than 35 years’ experience in the mortgage and banking industry Tony will add great value to the company by sharing his extensive knowledge and experience in the sector. He will add great value to our business as we continue to grow Capita Mortgage Services in the years ahead. In a time of positive change for us we welcome his expertise.”

Ward added: “I’m really pleased to be joining the board of Capita Mortgage Services as chairman following the recent acquisition by Capita Asset Services. The mortgage market is going through a renaissance right now and the industry needs good servicing companies providing an efficient and well controlled solution. I’m looking forward to working with the management team in growing the business in a market I know very well.”
