The Swansea renews sponsorship of Swansea RFC for 2025/26

Swansea Building Society has renewed its sponsorship of Swansea RFC for the 2025/26 season, extending a long-running partnership between two of the city’s most established institutions.

The mutual, which has been serving members since 1923, said its continued support was part of a wider commitment to investing in the local community through both financial services and cultural and sporting initiatives.

Swansea RFC, affectionately known as The Whites, was founded in 1872 and is among the founding members of the Welsh Rugby Union. The club has secured four Welsh Premier Division titles and is remembered for historic victories over the All Blacks in 1935 and Australia in 1992.

It has also provided a platform for international players including Alun Wyn Jones, Gavin Henson and Dan Biggar, with former Wales flanker Jonathan Thomas now taking over as head coach.

Alun Williams (pictured, left), chief executive officer at Swansea Building Society, said: “We’re proud to continue our support for Swansea RFC for another season. This partnership goes beyond branding – it’s about championing local pride, tradition and excellence.

“Just like the club, we have deep roots in Swansea and a strong connection to the people here. We’re excited to see what this season brings and will be cheering the team on every step of the way.”

David Blyth, board member at Swansea RFC, added: “Having the ongoing support of Swansea Building Society is hugely important to us. Their belief in what we’re building here – both on and off the field – means a great deal.

“We’re thrilled to be working with them again for the 2025/26 season and look forward to another successful year together.”

The society, which has branches in Swansea, Mumbles, Carmarthen and Cowbridge, remains one of the UK’s few independent building societies. Its backing of Swansea RFC is part of a wider programme of charitable and community sponsorships it will continue to support through 2025.
