The Source hails new platform as ‘game changer’

General insurance provider Source Insurance has launched its new platform, claiming it will revolutionise the way general insurance will be written.

The new platform offers new quote technology offering features such as a quick quote facility, returning accurate indicative quotes within 10 seconds, coupled to the ability to access from any smart phone, tablet or more traditional laptop and desktops.

The Source says it has a completely re-engineered question set enabling brokers to more quickly and accurately provide a range of ‘blue-chip’ options for their client, a feature that has also enabled the provider to extend the range of cover available to include not only the everyday risks but also up to 95% of non-standard risks online without the need for manual referral.

The new platform, which took 14 months to develop, also includes an off the shelf API which will make future integrations faster and more accessible many of which are already planned for the new year.

Kevin Paterson, the Source’s managing director, said: “We are very excited about the new platform and all of the additional benefits this will bring for the brokers who use us, in the last couple of years we have sought to get back to our roots as a software house utilising technology to make writing business in today’s compliance heavy market quicker and easier by getting the software to do as much of the heavy lifting as possible, the new platform is the first of many planned developments that will enable us to do that.

“Particularly exciting is the extension of our underwriting footprint to include non-standard risks online without the need for manual referral, we believe this is a game changer.”

Martin Reynolds, CEO of Simply Biz Mortgages, added: “Source have taken on member feedback and launched a new and exciting system that can be used on all devices. The system is very intuitive providing help and guidance throughout the quotation process to ensure writing GI is even easier than ever before.

“The new underwriting criteria ensures that more risks fit within the “standard” risk category ensuring customer needs can be addressed quickly without referral to an underwriter. I believe this an exciting opportunity for our members to generate additional income from writing general insurance, using a system that has a wide range of products and insurers that support it.

“It is nice to see that customer feedback has been gathered and utilised to provide a system for advisers, created by advisers.”
