The Right Mortgage & Protection Network sees record growth

Published on

The Right Mortgage & Protection Network has reported its strongest year to date, with growth across all key product areas in 2024.

The network saw year-on-year increases in mortgages (up 14%), protection (up 22%), general insurance (up 21%), income protection (up 58%), equity release (up 39%), and private medical insurance (up 41%). By the end of the year, overall turnover had risen by 25%.

ADVISER AND FIRM GROWTH DRIVE BUSINESS PERFORMANCE

The network attributed its growth to several factors, including an increase in both individual advisers and member firms. As of 27 January 2025, The Right Mortgage & Protection Network had 881 advisers across 402 firms, an increase of 125 advisers and 31 firms over the past year. Staff numbers also rose to 74.

Another key driver was the impact of Consumer Duty, which has placed a greater emphasis on client outcomes and encouraged firms to offer a wider range of products and services. The network expects these trends to continue into 2025 and beyond.

TECHNOLOGY INVESTMENT AND THE MOVE TO ACRE

A major development in 2024 was the network’s decision to migrate all member firms to Acre, an intermediary platform designed to streamline the case management process for advisers. The shift has provided firms with access to new tools, including a branded client portal, automated suitability letters, AML and ID verification, and integrated mortgage and protection sourcing.

Martin Wilson (pictured), CEO and founding director at The Right Mortgage & Protection Network, described the move as a “pivotal development” that has driven efficiencies and improved business processes.

“The move to Acre was a fundamental and pivotal development for us as a network, and for our firms and their advisers. It has already resulted in a far greater degree of efficiency and has opened up opportunities in areas such as lead generation, client communication, and business integration,” Wilson said.

Acre CEO and founder Justus Brown highlighted the impact of the technology shift, noting that the platform had led to network-wide improvements in efficiency, compliance, and client management.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Right Mortgage & Protection Network will mark its 10th anniversary at its upcoming National Training Event and Gala Dinner on 27 March 2025 at The Vox, Resorts World Birmingham. The event will feature more than 90 lender and provider exhibitors, as well as panel discussions and roundtable sessions.

While celebrating the network’s success in 2024, Wilson emphasised that the focus remains on future growth.

He added: “Overall, as our numbers prove, 2024 was undoubtedly the best year ever for The Right Mortgage & Protection Network, but the hard work clearly doesn’t stop here.

“We are absolutely committed to this market and to supporting our members and will continue to deliver everything they need in order that they might also be breaking business and income records for many years to come.”
