The Monmouthshire sponsors two education awards

The Monmouthshire Building Society has sponsored two awards at South Wales Argus Schools’ and Education Awards, held at the Coldra Court Hotel by Celtic Manor on 8 March.

The Society sponsored  the Above & Beyond Award, which is in recognition of a person(s) who have gone that extra mile to support a child, school or to raise funds for a project or initiative.

The second award is the Best Welsh Language Initiative Award, which is awarded to a school or initiative who support young people in their learning and awareness of the value of the Welsh language in the classroom with engaging leisure and cultural activities.

Laura Harvey, the Society’s head of marketing, said: “It’s important for us to recognise the great work currently being done in the education system, so the sponsoring of these awards further strengthens the Society’s position as a mutual building society for both our members and the community.

“We chose to support these two awards as we feel it’s important to give back to the people who look to further benefit children and young adults.”
