The Leeds to offer rent-free office space to charity

The Leeds Building Society is inviting charities to apply for the opportunity to make use of two floors of office space above its branch in Peterborough rent-free.

Charities interested in the 3,628 sq. ft. unoccupied space above the Queen Street branch can visit the Leeds Building Society website to apply. The space is available to rent for between three and five years.

The space is located in the heart of the city centre and is home to a Sir Antony Gormley statue, which was installed on the roof of the building in May 2018.

Karen Wint, chief operating officer at Leeds Building Society, said: “As a business we are committed to the communities in which our colleagues and members live and work.

“We know our branches are at the heart of our communities and we couldn’t think of a better way to demonstrate this than to share this available space with a good cause.

“Donating office space is something we have done successfully in Leeds, where Holbeck Elderly Aid, a charity that supports older people in the community, created a home within previously unused space.

“At a time when securing funding is increasingly challenging for charities, we wanted to provide an opportunity for a good cause to relocate, expand or just get off the ground with somewhere to call home.”
