Teachers&’039 chief exec appointed to FSA small business panel

James Bawa, chief executive of Teachers Building Society, has been appointed to the FSA’s Smaller Businesses Practitioner Panel.

The panel was established to represent smaller regulated firms and to advise the FSA on its policies regarding financial regulation.

Bawa is an advocate of diversity in financial services and has been Teachers’ chief executive for nine years. His second term as member of the FSA’s Regulatory Decisions Committee is coming to an end this November.

He said: “I’m delighted and proud to have been appointed to represent the building society sector on the FSA’s Smaller Businesses Practitioner Panel.
