Stonebridge unveils homebuyer report & building survey service

Published on

Stonebridge Group has launched a new Homebuyer Report and Building Survey service for its appointed representative (AR) firms.

The mortgage and insurance network has partnered with SDL Risk Management, the valuation and risk management business which is part of The SDL Group, allowing ARs the opportunity to arrange both Homebuyer Reports and Building Surveys on their client’s behalf. SDL Risk Management offers national coverage of surveying services including every postcode in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

ARs are now able to instruct a report or survey via Stonebridge’s technology system, Revolution. All the information required to instruct SDL Risk Management will already have been captured by the adviser in the fact find.

Stonebridge will be running a number of 15-minute webinars for member firms to provide an overview on this new part of the Revolution system.

Richard Adams, managing director of Stonebridge Group, said: “Statistics show that 20% of homebuyers will opt for a detailed survey rather than just a standard valuation, but will usually arrange this via their lender. This new relationship with SDL Risk Management will enable Stonebridge advisers to arrange competitively-priced Homebuyer Reports and Building Surveys for their clients.

“We believe this is a great opportunity to not only enhance the service offered to clients but also provide significant earnings potential for each firm. The integration with our own Revolution system also ensures the entire process is simple and straightforward to use, especially given the fact that advisers will already have captured all the required information as part of their factfind.

“SDL Risk Management’s extensive experience and service proposition makes them a strong partner for Stonebridge, and we are sure our AR firms will recognise the benefits to both them and their clients in accessing this new opportunity.”

Simon Jackson, group COO at SDL Group, added: “As part of our ongoing relationship with Stonebridge we are working on opportunities for its AR firms which draw on our experience and the quality of services we can deliver via firms within the SDL Group.

“This link-up with SDL Risk Management provides Stonebridge advisers with a fully-integrated Homebuyer Report and Building Survey instruction service, which should become a natural part of advisers’ client proposition. The fact it fits seamlessly within Revolution and requires no further data capture offers advisers the chance to provide this in-demand service without any considerable effort and presents a new, potentially lucrative, income stream.”
