Stonebridge names Steve Swyny as national recruitment manager

Mortgage and protection network Stonebridge has appointed Steve Swyny as its new national recruitment manager.

Swyny (pictured) will report to recruitment and growth director Lesley Sharkey and is tasked with building on the network’s steady expansion in recent years.

Based in Essex, Stonebridge now employs more than 180 staff across the UK to support its broker partners.

The network has recorded sustained growth in new member firms since 2018, citing strong broker support, continued investment in infrastructure and the deployment of proprietary technology as key drivers.

It says its recruitment of Swyny signals its determination to attract top-tier talent as it continues to scale its operations.

Swyny brings over three decades of experience in financial services to the role, joining from Just Mortgages, where he served as area director.

Rob Clifford, chief executive at Stonebridge, said: “Steve’s experience and record makes him a natural fit for Stonebridge. His role is vital as we continue to attract high quality AR firms and advisers to the network.

“His appointment also follows closely on the heels of Joanna Purdy, who joined us as national compliance manager earlier this month.

“Both Joanna and Steve stand as testament to our continued investment in individuals with vast experience.”

Commenting on his new role, Swyny added: “Having spent many years in financial services helping business owners choose a network and supporting them through that transition, I’ve seen firsthand how important that decision is for their long-term success.

“I’m looking forward to continuing that work as part of the Stonebridge recruitment team.

“It’s a great opportunity to contribute to a network that genuinely prioritises the needs of its firms and provides the right support to help them succeed. Stonebridge’s numbers speak for themselves.”
