SPF Private Clients opens Edinburgh office

SPF Private Clients (SPF) has opened a new office in Edinburgh, marking the return of the mortgage brokerage to Scotland for the first time since 2009.

Chelsea Thomson has joined SPF to head up the office on Coburg Street in Leith. After starting her career at HSBC in London, Thomson returned to Scotland working for Clydesdale and Yorkshire banks. She also worked as a self-employed mortgage adviser for a period of time before joining SPF.

Joining Thomson in Edinburgh are advisers Avril Cassidy and Mark Parsons.

Thomson, head of Scotland at SPF, said: “The decision to establish a presence in the vibrant city of Edinburgh is testament to the growing potential and attractiveness of Scotland’s property market. Our talented team of advisers bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the region, looking after all elements of a client’s requirements from mortgage and insurance solutions to wealth and protection advice.

“Our aim is to provide exceptional service to our clients, working closely with existing stakeholders and forging new relationships to enhance the SPF brand across Scotland. We pride ourselves on providing transparent, honest, and bespoke service, to give clients complete peace of mind.”

Ayrton Fielding, director of SPF, added: “We are delighted to physically return to Scotland with the appointment of Chelsea and her team demonstrating our commitment to the Scottish market. While we have continued to arrange mortgages in Scotland during the interim period, having locally-based brokers will enhance our coverage and increase the number of people we can help across the country.

“This is especially important in the current market when there is considerable interest rate volatility and specialist advice is more important than ever.”
