Published on

The Society of Mortgage Professionals has published details for its latest series of regional roadshows.

Beginning in Northern Ireland on 22 September, the five half-day mortgage and protection events will provide delegates with the latest market analysis and help them identify practical opportunities for both them and their clients.

Each event is free to attend and offers up to three hours and 35 minutes of structured CPD.

Speakers include Simon Chalk from Age Partnership and the Equity Release Council; Martin Reynolds from SimplyBiz mortgages, talking about the current and future impact of regulation on intermediaries and Ray Boulger from John Charcol, with a comprehensive mortgage market update.

In addition, Aldermore will give an overview of the buy-to-let market. F&TRC will outline the respective added value benefits from different providers and what advisers need to consider within their protection recommendations. Also, Zurich will identify the key considerations when managing mortgage risk.

Dates and venues are as follows:

22 September – Stormont Hotel, Belfast
29 September – Cedar Court, Wakefield
30 September – Belfy, Nottingham
1 October – Hilton (Ageas Bowl), Southampton
6 October – CII Aldermanbury, London

Gary Little, head of operations and membership, said: “As well as examining the state of the current market, we aim to highlight the potential of alternative areas where advisers may not have been active recently and that may offer them new business opportunities.”
