Society of Mortgage Professionals outlines roadshow schedule

The Society of Mortgage Professionals has confirmed the schedule for its second series of 2016 roadshows.

They are as follows:

  • Tuesday 4 October – Haydock Racecourse on .
  • Wednesday 5 October – East Midlands (Hilton, East Midlands Airport)
  • Thursday 6 October – Southampton (Hilton, Ageas Bowl)
  • Monday 10 October – London (CII, Aldermanbury)
  • Tuesday 11 October – Belfast (Hilton Templepatrick)

The events cover a spectrum of mortgage topics, beginning with a market overview by Jeremy Duncombe from Legal & General Mortgage Club and an examination of the importance of new build.

Other highlights include level 4 technical mortgage case studies and a specialist buy-to-let session delivered by Liz Syms of Connect for Intermediaries.

Additionally, there will be a specific focus on the importance of protection throughout each day, followed by the return of the popular regulatory and communications updates from the FCA after lunch.

“Our latest series of events offers advisers an invaluable insight into the latest developments across the whole of the mortgage and protection sector,” said Society of Mortgage Professionals head of professional development, Lee Travis (pictured).

“The agenda has been carefully designed to reflect the current state of the market. For instance, we recognise that buy-to-let is an area of particular interest for many advisers at this time due to the recent tax changes.

“We look forward to delivering business-relevant CPD to delegates at a time of record low interest rates in a sector that, as ever, is re-energising on so many levels,” he continued.

“There will be opportunities for delegates to engage in Q&A sessions throughout each day and each also offers four-and-a-half hours’ worth of important CII and SMP-accredited CPD.”
