SmartSearch to offer business credit checks

Published on

Anti-money laundering (AML) firm SmartSearch is offering business credit checks through its online verification platform.

This latest move enables clients to see an overview of a business’ credit score.  With a click of a button, users of the SmartSearch system will be able to access four years’ worth of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, key ratios and payment history.

SmartSearch will be able to check and monitor any UK companies, view in-depth credit history, including information on whether the business has CCJs or has ever filed for bankruptcy.

This bolsters SmartSearch’s Know Your Business (KYB) offering – which includes Ultimate Business Owner checks – gives users immediate access to up to date business credit information, enabling them to make a decision about whether a potential new client is financially stable.

Martin Cheek (pictured), managing director at SmartSearch, said: “We first launched company checks in 2012 and are now able to take our technology to the next level by introducing business credit reports.

“All our clients will now be able to access the same level of detail about businesses as they can about individuals. This means being able to pull a full, detailed credit report about any business they work with or are planning to work with so they can make an informed decision.

“In addition to the business credit reports, clients can use SmartSearch for UBO checks, enabling them to see who is controlling any business – even with complicated corporate structures with multiple subsidiaries and parent companies – and will also automatically receive our monitoring service, so if anything changes at a company that a client has already checked, they will be alerted.”
