Smartr365 appoints product engineering lead

Smartr365 has today announced the appointment of Edwin Halakooei as product engineering lead.

Halakooei (pictured) will head up the end-to-end software provider’s platform engineering strategy, while improving practices and processes. He will drive Smartr365’s ‘You Asked, We Built’ development process.

He has experience leading engineering teams for IT, educational and procurement companies in both London and Kuala Lumpur.

Halakooei said: “Too many in the mortgage industry are currently working with outdated legacy systems – they’re still using paper, and they’re still spending hours on tasks that can be done in minutes. I am excited to work at a true tech firm which uses real-time feedback from our users to shape services based on individual needs. I hope that as more users see the benefits of the Smartr365 platform, the industry’s shift towards technology will accelerate.

“Our ‘You Asked, We Built’ commitment is different to anything I’ve seen in the mortgage industry before. We will be delivering value to our users each week by implementing the developments specifically requested by them. Change in the mortgage market is inevitable and we can no longer take the ‘one size fits all’ approach. Using user feedback, we are going to revolutionise the mortgage application journey for both broker and the client.”

Conor Murphy, CEO of Smartr365, added: “The Smartr365 ethos has always been that we are a mortgage platform built for brokers, by brokers. Now, using broker feedback, we’re diving even deeper into this methodology.

“We continue to seek out ways that technology can improve the mortgage journey, and our entire team shares in this approach. Edwin’s clear dedication to improving user journeys, paired with his extensive experience, made him perfect for the role.”
