Fintech mortgage platform Smartr365 has appointed Mark McKenna to the position of commercial director.

McKenna (pictured) will be responsible for new business growth and sales of Smartr365’s mortgage platform to intermediaries across the UK.

He brings more than 20 years’ experience in SaaS sales (Software as a Service) to Smartr365. Prior to joining Smartr365, he was managing director at Filed, an AI marketing automation company, where he was responsible for the company’s growth strategy and global sales pipeline. Before this, McKenna served as UK sales director at Vulture Group in 2015 and senior sales director at Maistro PLC between 2013 and 2014. He also has experience working at IBM and Serco.

Conor Murphy, CEO at Smartr365, said: “Mark brings a wealth of experience to Smartr365 and we’re confident he will be a valuable member of the senior team as we continue to scale the business, following our investment last year from L&G and others. Mark will drive our growth plans, as we strive to become the dominant fintech platform for mortgage brokers. The mortgage market is reaching a tipping point in its use of and attitude towards technology, and Mark’s appointment will position Smartr365 to take full advantage of the market momentum.”

McKenna added: “2019 will see the mortgage market make huge strides forward when it comes to using technology to transform the user experience for brokers and the end customer experience – and Smartr365 is one of the companies driving that change. I’m delighted to join the Smartr365 team as we aim to create a frictionless mortgage experience for all participants in the mortgage market.”
