Skipton donates £150k to charities

The Skipton Building Society’s Charitable Foundation has donated £156,833 to good causes over the past 12 months.

The Charitable Foundation has made donations to over 83 charities across the UK throughout 2020, helping them to  provide essential services in a variety of causes. The charities receiving the vital funding include hospices, support groups, educational and youth services, nursing homes and food banks.

The Skipton Charitable Foundation was founded in 2000 and has since donated almost £2.5million to good causes.

Alison Davies, a trustee of the foundation, said: “We want everyone to feel like they are in a good place and this year it has been incredibly difficult for the charity sector to maintain their usual activity. But, despite the challenges, they have risen to the challenge and have continued to provide their excellent services to their people.

“That’s why we couldn’t be more proud to adapt our way of working and ensure we are still able to support these fantastic causes. It’s more important than ever before to be there for the UK’s wonderful charities.”
