The SimplyBiz Group is running a second Protection Awareness Week for 2014 in partnership with Friends Life, Zurich, Vitality Life and Bright Grey.

The week-long campaign aims to help advisers better educate their clients about the importance of protection, the types of products available and how protection cover could benefit them and their families.

The Group held its first Protection Awareness Week in July this year.

From today (9 December) onwards, each day will focus on a specific area of protection including income protection, whole of life, offering holistic protection advice and mortgage protection, delivered to advisers through a combination of electronic and online communications, a dedicated publication, webinars and video.

Makayla Everitt, head of business development for SimplyBiz Mortgages, said: “Our Protection Awareness Weeks are designed to offer real educational guidance to advisers and clients. Nothing is more important than your family and your health, yet so many of us are still failing to protect them adequately. Less than a quarter of people in the UK have life cover and even fewer have critical illness protection in place. Unfortunately, savings are another regularly neglected area of personal finance, which means many families would find themselves facing a diminished standard of living within just months of the loss or illness of a loved one.

“The Protection Awareness Week we held earlier this year attracted really positive feedback from our member firms, an increase in business and a sharp rise in the number of advisers visiting the protection area of our site. The SimplyBiz Group supports the firms who use our services across their entire proposition, and we feel protection is an essential element of a comprehensive holistic offering.”
