Shawbrook makes commercial mortgage appointment

Matthew-Woods

Matthew Woods has been appointed as junior sales executive in Shawbrook Bank’s commercial mortgage sales desk.

Woods (pictured) will play a key role in building the relationship between Shawbrook and its brokers further, supporting the latter by helping brokers shape new enquiries to determine if they are a fit with the bank’s criteria, and defining process requirements to ensure cases progress as efficiently as possible. He will also help to generate new business, principally from broker partners in areas that are not covered by field sales teams.

Since the mid-1990s, Woods has worked for Cantor Fitzgerald as a US Treasury broker, JP Morgan in change management, ANZ Bank in collateral management, and most recently at BNY Mellon.

Woods said: “I’m looking forward to working closely with our brokers to help them understand what we need to get comfortable with a deal. I relish the challenges involved in this role and look forward to the opportunities it will bring.”

Karen Bennett, sales and marketing director of commercial mortgages, said: “We are delighted to have Matthew on board. His considerable experience will prove invaluable in helping Shawbrook provide the best service possible to our brokers.

“We are immensely proud of our panel of brokers and constantly strive to improve the level of support we offer them. Continuing to help our brokers as much as possible is just one of our ambitions for 2014.”
