Shawbrook expands residential mortgages sales team

Published on

Shawbrook Bank has grown its residential mortgages team within the property finance division, appointing two new staff members.

Sue Wheatstone and Bethany Watson both join as business development executives.

Wheatstone joins after spending over a decade in the City, initially as a private bank manager with NatWest Private Banking before moving to Coutts for two years. She worked for a portfolio of clients in both roles and offered financial solutions covering mortgages, investments, savings and general banking.

“Since day one I have noticed how decisions are made much more quickly and processes can be adapted quickly to drive efficiency,” said Wheatstone.

“I’m looking forward to building relationships with my brokers and making a positive impact on both them and the sales team.”

Watson has previous experience in an IFA environment as a mortgage adviser and placement specialist. She said: “Due to the professional background I came from, Shawbrook was almost like a household name to me.

“It has been extremely insightful to work from ‘the other side’ as it were, and I am looking forward to getting to know our brokers’ businesses more as I grow into my new role here at Shawbrook.”

Maeve Ward, managing director of Shawbrook Residential Mortgages, added: “On behalf of the entire residential mortgages team, we’re very pleased to welcome aboard our two new starters. They are already having a positive impact on the efficiencies of the sales team which is encouraging to see.

“We are investing into the future whilst simultaneously expanding the resource available to our brokers’ clients with immediate effect. Both Sue and Bethany were standout candidates who have adapted well to the demands of their new roles.

“I am confident that, as business development executives, Sue and Bethany will deliver the level of personal, pragmatic service to our intermediary partners which Shawbrook is renowned for.”
