Shawbrook Bank’s commercial mortgages division has recruited Scott Apps as its new business development executive (BDE).

Apps (pictured) will be supporting the intermediaries on the lender’s broker panel in for London and East Anglia. He will be spending the majority of his time on the road, helping these brokers to grow their businesses as well as encouraging introducers to engage with the strong Shawbrook product and service proposition.

Before joining Shawbrook, Apps worked for Wesleyan Assurance Society for over six years, just under three of which were spent as a financial consultant. He had previously worked in a business development capacity for Omega.

He said: “I’d heard good things about Shawbrook and thought the commercial mortgages division would be a great team to work for. It’s a good opportunity to work for an energetic company with a strong culture, and I’m looking forward to working with the brokers, underwriters and BDMs, and being a part of something that is exciting and continuing to grow.”

Karen Bennett, sales and marketing director of commercial mortgages, said: “We’re delighted to have Scott on board to help us provide a high-quality service to our broker partners. With his support and enhancement of the work undertaken by our BDMs in London and East Anglia, we aim to add further value to our broker partners’ businesses and spread awareness of our appetite to lend among new clients and introducers.”
