Select & Protect has announced the appointment of Themba Wirz as its new branch manager.

Wirz (pictured), a Swiss national, has lived in the UK for the past 12 years. He joins the business from Insure and Go where he has spent the last nine years in a range of management roles, most recently managing an outbound contact centre sales team of 40.

In his new role at the general insurance provider, Wirz will report to the head of sales and will be responsible for maintaining relationships with key network providers, clients, partners and intermediaries.

In addition, he will play a key role in formulating and delivering on the agreed growth objectives and targets, managing the field based sales team and office based broker account executives.

Bruce Reid, Select & Protect’s commercial director, said: “We’re committed to continuing to help our mortgage broker and independent financial adviser partners sell more general insurance and grow their business.

“Themba has a strong track record of managing teams in order to maximise sales opportunities and I am confident that our partners will experience real value with his addition to our team. I’m delighted to welcome him to the group.”
