He joined Lloyds Banking Group in 2013.

Fleming said: “Scottish Widows Bank is a great brand, with a committed team and a reputation for excellent products and service. I’m looking forward to the challenge, and leading it into the next stage of growth.”

Jones added: “In the last few years we have successfully restructured and simplified our business model with a clear focus on sourcing intermediary business and a more efficient operation as a result.

“I know Martin is excited by the prospect of leading Scottish Widow Bank forward. I know he will make the best of the opportunities for our customers, for brokers and for the brand.”
