Susan Emmett, a director in Savills’ residential research team, is to speak at the ASTL’s annual conference.  The conference will take place in two months time on 16 September at Painters’ Hall in the City of London.

She will provide insights into the underlying factors in the housing market plus predictions of what may lie ahead in terms of housing market trends. The aim is to give lenders and everyone associated with bridging and short term lending the key information they need to make the most of current market opportunities and plan for what may lie ahead.

Emmett is responsible for researching and editing Savills B2B publications covering development, planning and housing as well as housing market trends.

The conference entitled ‘Bridging – Opportunities and Challenges’ will also cover issues such as the impending implementation of the EU Mortgage Directive, issues such as fraud and investigations, and will look at the political landscape and how that may affect bridging businesses.

The conference is open to all lenders, intermediaries, financial advisers, bankers, solicitors and surveyors, plus anyone else who will be affected by the short term lending market.

Benson Hersch, chief executive of the ASTL, said: “Rising house prices are the top of most property news agendas at the moment.  Susan Emmett’s wealth of knowledge of property markets will provide conference attendees with an insight of what factors are driving these increases and the effect of an increasingly diverse regional landscape.  This talk will provide valuable knowledge that may well have an effect on how bridging lenders judge their lending policy around the country.”

Emmett added: “Following a period of strong house price growth, the introduction of the MMR and further action from the Bank of England, it’s an important time to keep an eye on market trends. At the ASTL conference we will pull together crucial information that should be of particular help to short term lenders.”
