Satchell the latest to leave HTB bridging division

Lorenzo Satchell has become the latest senior member of the bridging team at Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB) to leave the lender.

Satchell (main picture) joined HTB in January 2023 as head of sales within its bridging division and was promoted to sales director for bridging in September of the same year.

His exit follows the departure of Jamie Jolly from HTB in the last quarter of 2024.

Jolly, who also left HTB to “pursue new opportunities”, subsequently joined Hilco Real Estate Finance (HREF) as managing director for the Midlands, North and Scotland earlier this month.

Upon Jolly’s exit, Alex Upton, managing director of specialist mortgages, assumed full responsibility for bridging.

Satchell will be pursuing new opportunities, the lender said.

He said: “It’s been a privilege to be part of HTB’s bridging success story, working with a fantastic team to strengthen the proposition and support brokers in structuring the right solutions for their clients.

“HTB is in a strong position, and I have no doubt the team will continue to build on that momentum. As I move on to the next chapter, I wish everyone at HTB continued success.”

SALES FUNCTION CONSOLIDATION

Following Satchell’s departure, HTB is to merge the sales leadership of its bridging and specialist mortgages divisions, with Andrea Glasgow appointed as sales director across both divisions.

The lender said that as it was seeing brokers increasingly structure deals that involve both short-term and long-term finance, the sales function consolidation would result in a “more connected approach”.

Bridging and specialist mortgages will continue to operate as distinct divisions, each with its own underwriting and operational teams.

The specialist mortgages sales team will also help brokers on bridging cases where appropriate, providing a single point of contact for transactions requiring both short-term and long-term finance.

BIGGER PICTURE
Alex Upton, HTB

Alex Upton, HTB’s managing director of specialist mortgages and bridging, said: “Brokers know their clients’ needs inside out, and they’re always looking at the bigger picture – whether it’s structuring short-term finance, planning a transition to term lending, or exploring new portfolio opportunities.

“Our role is to make those conversations easier, ensuring they have the right expertise and support, whatever the requirement.

“By aligning sales leadership across bridging and specialist mortgages, we’re making it simpler for brokers to access the full breadth of our lending expertise.

“The two divisions remain distinct – each with its own underwriting and operational teams – but this structure means brokers can have the right conversations with the right people, without barriers, and with the full backing of HTB’s lending teams.

“Lorenzo has been instrumental in the growth of the bridging division, and I personally want to thank him for all of his efforts and wish him the best.”
