Santander to introduce mortgage video service

Published on

Santander is launching a mortgage video service in 63 branches across the country, following a plot scheme conducted last year.

The new service enables customers to apply for a mortgage using a video link from the branch, which connects them remotely to a UK based mortgage adviser.

Customers can go online, call, or visit a branch to go through the initial stages of their mortgage application, providing documentation where required. Customers have the opportunity to receive in branch mortgage advice by video link across the 63 branches that are being equipped with video technology.

This new video service is designed to complement its existing branch, online, telephone and intermediary channels. If a customer prefers to speak to a mortgage adviser in person, they still can, as advisers will continue to be available in branch.

Miguel Sard, managing director of mortgages at Santander, said: “For most people, a mortgage is one of the biggest financial commitments they will make in their lifetime. We know that customers value speaking to a Mortgage Adviser who will explain what options are available to them and recommend a product to meet their individual needs.

“We are excited to offer customers this new mortgage video service, which works well alongside our existing offering.”

Santander is planning later this year to improve the mortgage video service by enabling customers to speak with a mortgage adviser by video link from their own home using their own device.
