The Right DA Club has announced the appointment of a new head of regulatory support.

Steven Howard joins with immediate effect having spent over 35 years working in the financial services industry in both adviser and compliance-focused roles.

He joins from Simplybiz where he spent over 16 years, most recently as its head of mortgage lending & compliance services. He has also been a self-employed IFA and a Principal of a mortgage brokerage.

He will look after The Right DA Club’s regulatory support proposition which delivers compliance solutions to directly authorised firms covering: file checking, compliance support days, complaints handling, financial promotion approvals, onboarding support and more.

Howard (pictured) will report to Chelsea Kiefert, head of DA at The Right Mortgage.

Kiefert said: “We are very pleased to be announcing Steven’s appointment in what is a vital role for our business, Head of Regulatory Support. Our compliance solutions are a central part of The Right DA Club proposition and Steven’s experience in this area is second to none. In a world where regulation continues to shift, and the responsibilities for advisory practices become ever greater, we know that DA firms want the backing, resource and support of quality clubs and experienced individuals in order to navigate through these waters.

“Steven is a fantastic addition to the team and I know he will be a huge benefit to all those firms who use us for their regulatory and compliance needs.”

Howard added: “At this point of my career – and after over 16 years with Simply Biz – I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to join such a vibrant and forward-thinking company like The Right DA Club, where member support and respect is central to the proposition.

“I particularly look forward to utilising and sharing my knowledge, skills, and experiences from over 35 years in financial services (alongside the excellent Right DA Club team) to deliver, develop and enhance the existing compliance and regulatory service offering for new and existing members. This is an extremely exciting time to be joining The Right DA Club and I hope to play a significant part in their future business growth plans.”
