Reward Funding has raised £21,000 for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity after a year-long programme of fundraising events across its five UK offices.
The money will help the charity provide practical and emotional support to families caring for a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness.
COMMUNITY EFFORT
Staff and business partners took part in a wide range of activities, from marathons, padel tournaments and 10k runs to bake sales, quizzes and themed dress-up days, with fundraising taking place “at any given opportunity”.
Jenny Evans (pictured, right), corporate partnerships fundraiser at Rainbow Trust, said the donation would fund more than 656 hours of family support. “With no central government funding, we rely on the support from businesses like Reward,” she said.
“Partnerships like this are essential for us to continue our work, and a donation of this scale will provide more than 656 hours of vital support to some of the most vulnerable families in our communities.”
Reward’s group managing director Nick Smith said: “Rainbow Trust was a clear choice for Reward this year. Their work to support families in incredibly difficult circumstances is inspiring.
“We’re incredibly proud to contribute to such a meaningful cause and grateful to everyone who donated over the year.”
Robert Still (pictured, left), managing director of Reward Asset Finance, described presenting the cheque as “a meaningful moment for all of us, and a reflection of the passion and teamwork that went into every fundraising activity”.
GIVING BACK PROGRAMME
The initiative formed part of Reward’s Giving Back programme, which encourages staff to support causes in their communities. Since 2018, the business has raised more than £190,000 for charity partners and local projects.
