Rent Smart Wales approves ARLA qualifications

Published on

Rent Smart Wales has approved the three NFOPP awarding body qualifications in lettings.

These allow agents to become approved Rent Smart Wales licenced agents.

The three awards are the level two award in lettings and property management; the level three technical award in lettings and property management, and the level four certificate in letting and property management.

These are currently the only lettings qualifications that are officially regulated by the Welsh Government.

This is retrospective, so those who have already taken any of the NFOPP qualifications in lettings in the past will be accredited; they will simply have to undertake a free online top-up about Rent Smart Wales.

David Cox, managing director of the Association of Residential Letting Agents, said: “We are really pleased to hear Rent Smart Wales has approved the NFOPP awarding body qualifications as part of the training for the licencing of letting agents in Wales.

“We hope this will go a long way in improving the standards of lettings in Wales, and are delighted Rent Smart Wales recognise the quality of our qualifications.

“We’re continuing our discussions with Rent Smart Wales over a possible provision to the licencing fee structure.”
