Quantum Mortgages promotes Rachel Thomas to lead bridging division

Published on

Quantum Mortgages has announced the promotion of Rachel Thomas to head of bridging finance, as the specialist lender expands its short-term lending proposition beyond pilot phase.

The appointment follows the formal launch of Quantum’s bridging products in April.

Initially rolled out on a limited basis to selected intermediaries and trusted introducers, the offering has since been broadened to include semi-commercial properties, ex-local authority housing, and properties in Northern Ireland.

The lender’s Residential Investment product has also been extended to support both expat and foreign national borrowers.

Thomas joined Quantum Mortgages as an underwriter in September 2024 and has played a central role in shaping and delivering the bridging proposition to market.

Her prior experience includes senior underwriting roles at Lendco, Octopus Real Estate and Harrods Bank.

CONSISTENT MODEL

Quantum’s bridging proposition follows the same model as its established buy-to-let offering, with a fully digital application process designed to give brokers immediate, credit-backed decisions.

Terms remain valid provided applications accurately reflect the submitted deal.

Jason Neale, chief executive of Quantum Mortgages, said: “Rachel’s promotion is thoroughly deserved. She has been instrumental in delivering our bridging product to market and has led the underwriting of our initial completions with exceptional professionalism.

“Rachel is a highly experienced bridging finance professional with a proven track record of managing a quality underwriting process who will no doubt excel in her new role.”

Thomas added: “I’m thrilled to lead our bridging division into its next phase. We have been working hard to perfect the proposition and the online customer journey, which now complete, offers a refreshingly simple and transparent alternative to the traditional and outdated way of obtaining short term property finance.”
