Protection Guru promotes Jessie Leworthy to customer success role

Protection Guru has announced the promotion of Jessie Leworthy to the role of customer success specialist.

Leworthy (pictured) joined the specialist adviser research platform as an intern in 2022 while completing her banking and finance degree at Northampton University. Upon graduating, she moved into a permanent position as communications coordinator, where she took responsibility for overseeing the group’s social media channels, updating product content across the wider FTRC portfolio, and coordinating events for both the Consumer Duty Alliance and AdviserSoftware.com.

Her contribution was recognised last year when she was named trainee of the year at the European Fintech Awards 2023. The accolade highlighted her early impact in the sector, where she has been noted for her strong grasp of financial technology and her ability to communicate its value to advisers.

In her new position, Leworthy will focus on adviser engagement and client support, with a particular emphasis on Protection Guru Pro. She will assist with onboarding and help users make full use of the platform’s tools, while also working alongside insurers and providers to ensure the proposition remains comprehensive across life, critical illness, business protection and income protection.

Protection Guru founder Ian McKenna said Leworthy’s journey from intern to full-time team member exemplifies the firm’s approach to talent development.

“Jessie’s appointment is a great example of the success of our approach in recruiting financial services undergraduates as interns,” he said. “It demonstrates how well positioned we are to prepare them for practical roles within the industry and in Jessie’s case, how that pathway has led to her becoming a valuable member of our full-time team.

“In the three years she has been with us Jessie has shown her potential as a rising star in our industry. She continues to go from strength to strength and I am delighted to see her take up this new role. Like so many others in our team she has a passion for protection.”

Leworthy said she was looking forward to the next chapter in her career at Protection Guru.

“It has been a great three years, joining the company first as an intern and then turning full time,” she said. “The whole team here have been really supportive in my journey, and I am delighted to be taking on this wider role in the Protection Guru business which will enable me to focus on an area I really care about, making sure more people, families and businesses are properly protected.”
