Property prices remain stable

UK house prices rose by just 0.1% in September, according to the Nationwide Building Society.

Prices were 0.3% lower than September 2010, while the three-month on three-month measure of house prices was unchanged in September.

The price of an average home is now £166,256

Robert Gardner, Nationwide’s chief economist, said: “Sluggish demand for homes on the back of weak labour market conditions
