PRIMIS appoints regional sales director for South East

PRIMIS Mortgage Network has appointed Niamh Downey as regional sales director for the South East, strengthening its leadership team as the network looks to support continued growth across the region.

Downey (pictured) brings more than eight years of experience in the mortgage sector, having worked in both distribution and lending. She joins PRIMIS from Bluestone, where she was appointed head of business development in 2022. During her time at the specialist lender, she played a key role in driving broker engagement, shaping the firm’s proposition, and contributing to its wider strategic growth.

Her move marks a return to the distribution space, where PRIMIS is placing renewed emphasis on deepening broker relationships and enhancing its service proposition.

Matthew Surridge, interim sales director at PRIMIS, welcomed the appointment, describing Downey as “a dynamic and results-driven person with a proven track record in business development.”

He added: “Niamh is recognised across the industry too for her commitment and contribution to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her expertise and experience will boost our delivery of exceptional customer and broker experiences in the South East region. She will be a great addition to the team.”

Commenting on her new role, Downey said: “I’m hugely excited to be joining such a well-established and forward-thinking network. I’m looking forward to working closely with colleagues, brokers, and lender partners to help deliver PRIMIS’ ambitious growth plans while continuing to set the standard for service and support.”
