Plannr CRM has achieved SOC 2 certification, marking a significant step in its efforts to combine technological innovation with stringent data protection standards across the UK’s financial advice sector.
The UK-based technology firm, which provides CRM solutions designed specifically for financial advisers, said the accreditation reinforces its commitment to operating with transparency, accountability and security in handling sensitive client information.
Nick Harper, co-founder of Plannr Technologies, said: “Advising firms and their clients entrust us with extremely sensitive information; financial records, personal data, policy documents, valuations, and more. Innovation matters, but it cannot come at the cost of compromising that trust.
“By achieving SOC 2 certification, we are making a clear statement: Plannr is committed to delivering our innovative solutions securely, responsibly, and transparently.”
SOC 2 is an internationally recognised standard developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) that assesses how well a company’s systems and processes protect data privacy, security, and availability. Plannr’s certification follows a detailed independent audit examining the design and effectiveness of its internal controls over a defined period.
Plannr’s systems already feature advanced measures such as AES-256 encryption, two-factor authentication for advisers and clients, daily vulnerability scanning, and secure cloud hosting with intrusion detection and audit logging.
The firm said the certification makes it one of the first UK financial CRM providers to attain this level of external assurance, positioning it as a leader in secure innovation for the advice market.
Harper added that the milestone aligns with Plannr’s mission to help advice firms of all sizes operate “more efficiently, confidently and securely” in an increasingly regulated environment.
The achievement also comes as financial advice firms face rising expectations around cybersecurity, data privacy and operational resilience. By meeting SOC 2 standards, Plannr aims to give advisers greater confidence in the systems underpinning their day-to-day operations.
