
The former chairman of the Co-op Bank has been arrested, police have confirmed.
Paul Flowers, who was allegedly shown in the Mail on Sunday handing £300 for the purchase of illegal drugs, was arrested on Thursday evening in connection with an ongoing drugs supply investigation.
Flowers is a Methodist minister and has been suspended indefinitely by the church.
West Yorkshire police confirmed they had arrested a 63-year-old man in the Merseyside area in connection with an ongoing drugs supply investigation.
“He has been taken to a police station in West Yorkshire where detectives will continue their enquiries,” they added.
