Paragon Bank has expanded its mortgages leadership team with the appointment of Simon Glass as head of mortgage operations.

Glass (pictured) will oversee the bank’s operations function, focusing on customer outcomes and reporting to mortgage lending director Lisa Steele. His remit includes buy-to-let underwriting, completions and customer relationship teams, covering the full application journey from submission to funds release.

Steele said: “Buy-to-let is in our DNA and we’ve evolved throughout our thirty years supporting landlords.

“This is something we continue to do, and an important aspect of Simon’s role is driving positive change, building on our culture of continuous improvement.

“This has seen us invest in our people and technology and refine our processes to improve the broker experience.

“Simon plays an important part in Paragon delivering faster, smarter mortgage applications, whether that’s the complex cases we continue to excel at or more simple propositions.”

Glass has more than 25 years’ experience in financial services, including 16 years in the mortgage sector across roles ranging from underwriting and mortgage advice to BDM and head of sales positions. He has also run a mortgage brokerage.

He said: “Having worked for lenders in a range of roles, as well as experience on the broker side of things, I have a good understanding of how the two work well together.

“I’m excited to bring this experience to Paragon, tapping into it refine our processes and deliver an even better service to brokers.”
