Paradigm to hold MMR debate via Twitter

Paradigm Mortgage Services is to use social media as a means of widening the debate and exploring issues about the forthcoming implementation of the Mortgage Market Review (MMR).

This follows Paradigm Group’s recent Twitter debate on protection.

Paradigm will be holding a live Twitter debate on Tuesday 15 April between 2pm and 3:30pm. Paradigm is inviting advisers and providers to actively participate in the debate by tweeting questions or comments to @Paradigm_Mtgs using the #Paradigm hashtag.

Advisers will also be able to submit questions prior to the session by emailing Riona.Mulherin@paradigmgroup.eu and they will be answered during the session.

Paradigm Mortgage Services has issued a number of MMR-specific updates and bulletins over the past nine months as the FCA has released information on how brokers and lenders will transact business under the new MMR regulations.

The Twitter debate is the latest MMR initiative from Paradigm and will help brokers explore any last-minute questions and issues they may have. Lenders such as Precise Mortgages have agreed to take part in order to provide a lender viewpoint on the changes they have had to make to their systems and processes.

John Coffield, head of Paradigm Mortgage Services, said: “We recognised last year there was a gap in the knowledge and information bank for DA firms regarding MMR and resolved to be a conduit between the regulator, lenders and advisers.

“We have run a series of roadshows, with the FCA in attendance at some of them, published comprehensive guides and bulletins, templates, and through direct interaction with the regulator we have provided DAs with a one-stop home for all their MMR needs.

“This latest initiative is another way, using a popular medium, whereby we can help broker’s bridge any lingering MMR knowledge gaps they might have.”
