Pam Brown Mortgages on target to raise £100,000 for charity with more to come

Published on

Pam Brown’s latest charity event raised a whopping £15,000 for Crohn’s and Colitis UK last week as more than 150 industry stalwarts from both brokers and lenders partied the night away at The Varsity Club, Oxford.

The family-run mortgage brokerage, based in Bicester, Oxfordshire, is no stranger when it comes to raising cash for Crohn’s and Colitis UK after Pam’s son Joe was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at age 13 and just two years later Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) – an uncommon chronic liver disease.

Pam Brown says: “We managed to raise £15,000 on the night which was a fantastic achievement for all involved.”

CHARITY EFFORTS

So far Pam and the firm have raised significant funds for the charities through various initiatives.

In 2022 she organised a group of over 30 mortgage industry professionals to climb Ben Nevis, raising over £20,000 for Crohn’s and Colitis UK.

Then in 2023 she led a team of brokers and lenders to tackle the 24.4-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, raising over £11,000 and surpassing their initial £2,500 target.

The last charity night in October 2023 featured an auction, raffle and games raising over £25,000. Auction items included high-value prizes like Taylor Swift VIP tickets and signed sports memorabilia. Initial expectations were to raise £10,000, but the night far exceeded that goal.

Brown adds: “We’ve got the Edinburgh marathon to look forward to next and we’re heading towards £100,000 in just three years.”

Taking place in May the Edinburgh marathon was voted the fastest marathon in the UK by Runner’s World and is an all-encompassing route which takes in some of city’s most iconic landmarks as well as offering picturesque views along the East Lothian coastline.
