Openwork launches Life Calc protection app

Openwork has unveiled its new Apple app which allows advisers to assess their clients’ protection needs on the move.

Life Calc enables advisers to quickly calculate their clients’ protection needs for life, critical illness, income protection and whole of life cover, based on their current circumstances.

Users of Life Calc will be able to visually demonstrate any gaps in protection cover and results can be emailed directly to the client or adviser from within the App.

Openwork is also developing Lender Source – an app built in conjunction with Mortgage Brain which will enable advisers to source mortgages from the network’s panel of lenders. Advisers will be able to filter and save schemes based on their clients’ individual requirements, with the App providing a comparison listing which advisers can show and discuss with clients. The app, which will be available to download in the next few months, will also provide advisers with mobile access to mortgage calculators.

Paul Shearman, mortgage, protection and general insurance proposition director, said: “Demand from advisers for more mobile device applications has been strong following the launch of our Apple and Android protection Apps.

“Supporting advisers’ evolving working methods is a key priority for the business and we are pleased to introduce these new Apps which will enable our members to offer up-to-the-minute mortgage and protection advice while on the move.”
