Openwork has revealed that almost half of the network’s total advisory force have used its protection panel, Openwork Select, in the 12 months since launch.

The panel, which celebrated the first anniversary of its introduction on 24 September 2010, features five providers – AEGON Scottish Equitable, Friends Life, Legal & General, Zurich and Liverpool Victoria (LV=) – which collectively account for almost 40% of the protection market.

Paul Shearman, mortgage, protection and general insurance proposition director at Openwork, said: “Broadening the offering available to our advisers is a key part of Openwork’s strategy so we are extremely pleased the panel has been such a success in the 12 months since launch.
