OneFamily Group has announced that Peter O’Donnell is to join its board as a non-executive director on 1 November.

O’Donnell (pictured) has worked in financial services for over 35 years at firms including Aviva, Royal Sun Alliance, Prudential and Unum.

He transitioned to a portfolio career in 2021, taking a non-executive director role at Nottingham Building Society and is a director of Queen Victoria Hospital Foundation Trust.

He joins the financial mutual at a key period of growth for the organisation, with its recently announced plan to move its Beagle Street insurance brand into the intermediary space and a soon to be completed modernisation programme.

Jim Islam, OneFamily’s CEO, said: “I’d like to warmly welcome Peter to the team, I’m looking forward to working with him.

“Peter’s vast experience, his background in leading business growth and his understanding of the insurance and financial services sector will be a huge asset to the OneFamily Group as we enter an exciting period of expansion into new markets.”

O’Donnell added: “I’m looking forward to joining OneFamily given its strong culture of delivering outstanding customer service, caring for its staff and mutual status. I’m excited to start working with Jim and the team on their exciting and innovative growth strategy.”
